Description

The project establishes a dedicated mental health and recovery space for frontline and humanitarian volunteers in the Boryspil District of Kyiv Region. The centre responds to chronic stress, secondary trauma and burnout among volunteers working in evacuation, rescue, food distribution and other emergency-response activities. It provides resilience training, physical rehabilitation and fitness facilities, together with relaxation and mindfulness spaces where volunteers can recover and strengthen their capacity to continue humanitarian work.

Impact

The centre is expected to support approximately 20–25 volunteers per month, representing around 200–300 unique volunteers annually. The intended impact is to reduce burnout and chronic stress, improve emotional regulation and decision-making under pressure, and strengthen the overall quality and reliability of humanitarian response. The centre is also intended to provide a replicable model for longer-term volunteer recovery and resilience infrastructure in Ukraine.
