Postcode Ukraine began simply, with bags of food and toys in the back of a car, shared directly with people Mark Neville met as he travelled across Ukraine documenting the impact of the war.
Today, we continue to provide targeted aid to communities affected by the ongoing war, delivering food, books, toys, tools, animal supplies and other essentials where fast intervention can make an immediate difference. Our work has also evolved. Through our grant program, we partner with 18 trusted Ukrainian charities and volunteer groups whose local knowledge and networks enable them to respond quickly and effectively where support is most needed.
Together, these projects support people whose lives have been profoundly affected by the full-scale invasion, including internally displaced people (IDPs) forced to leave frontline communities and rebuild their lives elsewhere.
Proactive Generation distributes food, medicine and essential supplies to communities affected by war. Postcode Ukraine has given $74,000 in grant funding to support its People to People program since 2023, providing food packages to people experiencing displacement and financial hardship. So far in 2026, we have provided $20,000 to expand the program, supporting 640+ food packages for nearly 2,000 people.
Good Bread from Good People creates employment and training opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities while preparing fresh bread and hot meals for frontline and vulnerable communities. Since 2024, PU has given $21,000 in grant funding to support its inclusive hub, which fosters independence, community and dignity. A grant of $10,000 provides humanitarian aid to more than 2,200 people.
Animal 911 provides emergency care and shelter for animals affected by the war. Through Postcode Ukraine’s Direct Aid program, it has purchased essential materials and equipment to improve its rescue and care facilities, creating safe, functional spaces for animals in need. From food for a displaced family to shelter for a rescued animal, humanitarian response begins with meeting immediate needs. Working alongside trusted organisations rooted in their communities helps support reach those who need it most.
